4 Days Tangier Rabat Tour Description

Day 1: Tangier – Rabat guided Tour:

Upon your arrival to Tangier, you will find our Moroccan driver waiting for you to start our journey in uncovering the mystics of this beautiful country. Our first stop will be in Rabat. It is the administrative capital of Morocco. Visiting this city is a good opportunity to travel through time. This day-trip will unveil the modern and mystic faces of the beautiful Rabat. We will visit the historic part of the capital to see the Mausoleum, the Hassan tour and the Oudaya Kasbah. Then walk in the wide and modern streets of the new city to pass by the parliament and the big green gardens. Our guided tour will also include visits to the city’s souks bounded by Almouahad ramparts and the 17th-century Andalousian fortifications. We will also visit the Chella Necropolis where the Roman and Islamic ruins lie side-by-side whispering endless stories of centuries past. Dinner and overnight in a Riad or Hotel.

Day 2: Rabat – Meknes - Volubilis – Fez

After breakfast, we will leave Rabat to drive along vast agricultural fields to the second imperial city of Morocco, Meknes. In this Ismaili capital, we will have the opportunity to take memorable pictures of the massive Bab El Mansour gate. Our tour of Meknes includes the Harri Souani stables, the old medina and the beautiful royal palace. Then continue on to the sacred city of Moulay Idriss. We will have some time to rest at this beautiful small city before visiting the Roman ruins of Volubilis. Volubilis is a truly impressive setting selected by UNESCO as a cultural heritage site for humanity. They date to the 3rd century BC. Many mosaics and architectural constructions persists the power of time. In the late afternoon, we will leave to fez. Overnight in a Riad/ Hotel.

Day 3: Fes – Guided tour of the Medina

After breakfast, we will begin our guided tour of the Fes medina. It is one of the world’s largest walled cities. We will explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit. We will also dive in into mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets, yet not flying ones. We will also try many other mystical art objects of Morocco. We will also pay a visit to the King’s Palace and the Jewish quarter next to it. This quarter was built side by side the royal palace to protect the Canaanites from rebel attacks. The power to protect this minority was a symbol of power of the past and the current dynasty during the middle ages and in times of war. The tanneries is an ancient industrial site that persists through the modern methods of dying leather. It proved to generate one the best quality leather products in Morocco. We will have lunch in a traditional restaurant in the heart of the medina. After lunch, we will continue our diving and embrace a remarkable sunset in one of the beautiful terraces of the cafes. Overnight in Riad/Hotel.

Day 4: Fes – Chefchaouen – Tangier

After breakfast, we will leave to Tangier through the farmlands and small villages in the northern side of Morocco. On the toes of the great Rif Mountains, we will visit the blue-skied town of Chefchaouen, which nestles in the hollow of the two mountains – Ech-Chaoua (The Horns) – from which it takes its name. Chefchaouen is an Amazigh (Berber) name that means, “Look at the Horns”. We will plunge in the steep narrow streets with white and indigo lime washed buildings, small squares, ornate fountains and houses with elaborately decorated doorways and red tile roofs. In this delightful town, we will enjoy our lunch in one of the traditional Restaurant with its atmospheric view over the Ech-Chaoua Mountains. After lunch, we will head back to Tangier.
